I highly recommend the 120 hour TEFL course for anyone looking to teach English overseas. The course material is highly informative and the exams give you practice making detailed lesson plans. Feedback is positive but also very helpful on what you can improve in your lesson plans/teaching.

Being an online course, you don’t really get access to facilities. In my case, I didn’t ask for help with job assistance, so I’m not evaluating that either.

About the course though, I don’t have any complaints. I’m extremely satisfied with the staff and all the material provided during the course. Feedbacks were quick and insightful, and all books and lectures were structured in a way you could easily access extra sources if you want to. Overall, extremely satisfied.

I would highly recommend this course for anyone interested in obtaining a TEFL certification. The content is very thorough, there are a load of resources provided for students, and the staff are very attentive and quick to respond to emails. I was a little bit hesitant about taking the TEFL course because I felt that as a teacher, I didn’t need to take it. I thought that my 20 years of experience was enough. As I began to go through the course, I realized that I had to let go of some of my previous knowledge of teaching and embrace the strategies of teaching overseas. This is not to say that what I have been doing is wrong, but I was focused on teaching English in an English speaking country, not in a country that is learning the language. The TEFL course has prepared me, if I am chosen, to teach English as a second language. My tutor, Ted Tucker, is absolutely great. He helped to calm my uncertainties about writing lesson plans. Although the lesson plans were a little bit different from what I have been writing, I began to see why they had to be written the way that they are written. I don’t want to write a short story, although I could, but I just want whoever reads this to know that although the course starts off a little bit difficult, don’t give up. You can complete it and the tutors are there to make sure that you do. Thanks again TEFL.

I took the 120-hour course and overall, found it a pleasant experience. Whenever I had questions or had to submit assignments, I was responded to or was given feedback fairly quickly. I was also provided with helpful resources that I’ll be able to refer to later if needed. I would suggest this course to anyone looking for a TEFL certification.

I took the 160-HR Specialist course through TEFL Educator and was very happy with it! I found the course content to cover several different areas, but at the same time it had depth to it. The online system is very helpful in keeping track of where you are in the course. The course involves, not just reading, but listening to podcasts and watching videos. I liked the variety of learning methods used! The main parts of the course focus on teaching methodology and writing lesson plans. These were explained very well! (I do plan on going back and reviewing the special module on teaching tests as this is the one ESP area that I don’t feel completely ready to teach yet.) When I had questions on anything, Ted was not only very responsive, but also very thorough in his explanations. This is a top notch course for a very reasonable price. It’s a solid, in-depth course that leaves you feeling confident. If questions arise, you can count on the support of the instructors. There are also downloads available for several helpful books and links to further reading on topics. I took my time with this course, working on it part-time. I took nearly the full year, but it can be done more quickly if you work on it full-time. I also highly recommend doing the online practicum offered, especially if you’ve never taught ESL/EFL before, or if you’ve never taught it online. It is invaluable in helping you put what you learn through TEFL Educator into practice. I am so happy I chose TEFL Educator!
