I completed the LinguaEdge 50-hr TESOL course in September ’08. I was completely satisfied with the course. The material was organized in a user-friendly fashion. In addition to the content knowledge, each unit also contained enrichment opportunities (dig deeper exercises). Topical discussions were clear, concise, and based on seminal and current research. The lesson planning and building activities were rooted in pedagogy and immediate usability. By the time I finished the course, I had already created and used six lesson plans with great success in my classroom. I have made the knowledge and skills I gained in this course a part of my regular teaching practice. This course was much better than any professional development training I have received in the last five years. My instructor was knowledgeable, prompt, and friendly. His advice and support helped me navigate the course smoothly. Every penny of this course is worth it. I HIGHLY recommend the 50-hr TESOL course at LinguaEdge.

This course exceeded my expectations. It is a great feeling to take the course at your own pace and the course outline does a great job keeping you interested. I had not taken such an involved class for a few years and I saw a steady re-learning curve upward as I progressed through the lessons.
I would highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a TESOL Certification.

“The Lingua-Edge TESOL course has been a great learning experience from beginning to end. The course is easy to navigate through, even for non-computer people like myself. The learning modules are packed with useful information that gave me the luxury of moving through each unit at my own pace. My tutor was very helpful and surprisingly prompt, even though he is on the other side of the world and has a huge time difference. Often, he would reply in a matter of minutes!
I have had teaching experience before doing this course. But, doing this course has given me so much more knowledge, tools, resources, and confidence to continue into the ESL/EFL field. This course is a must for anyone teaching or thinking of teaching English to speakers of other languages.”

“I was delightfully surprised at the high quality of the online course. The material was engaging, well presented, relevant, informative and interactive. The course content and assignments were concise and well structured to reinforce learning throughout. I found this course to be useful, informative and even a bit of fun. I would recommend this course to anyone considering a TESOL qualification.”

I took the 50-hour course this year (2009) and can’t recommend it highly enough.
The first thing to understand is that it will take you more than 50-hours to properly study and complete the course! But that is a good thing, as far as I’m concerned.
This was the first “online” course I’ve taken and I was very impressed with every aspect, including the overall design and style, module content, video segments, tutor support and ease of use of the LinguaEdge TESOL certificate.
One feature that I think is important to grasp is that you can fit the course around your daily life, and as a practicing teacher of 5 years, living and working in Japan, this was a massive incentive to try an online study program.
Drawbacks? No major ones… You do need to discipline yourself to study daily, if possible (though it’s not necessary) and making detailed notes is vital to get the most from the course – but when approached correctly, I think “online life-long study” should be part of everyone’s aims for self-improvement and development.

For anyone needing training and certification for Teaching English, I would highly recommend this course. There was a good balance of theory and practice. I was actually surprised but very pleased that there were so many practical issues addressed and ideas given for being a better teacher. I found the material to be very professionally put together, with a variety of interactive activities, online research opportunities and speedy feedback on all our assignments. The things I’ve learned will help to improve my teaching skills, be useful for fellow teachers, and the nationals I train.

I had enrolled in the 50 hour online TEFL course through Linguaedge.com. The course is very innovative compared to other TESOL courses that I have personally seen. The course is very in depth with each Unit providing extensive information regarding each specific topic. I will say that the only negatives I came across was the course language itself is pretty intensive and will take awhile to understand. I feel this course is useful to an extent. I had completed 16 Units when I had the feeling that is basically a self taught TEFL instead of one taught by a Tutor. I hadn’t received a reply from the Tutor unless it was about upgrading the certificate. The upgrade included phonology, vocabulary, and grammar. I asked the Tutor somethings about phonology and he quickly replied he didn’t know and just enroll in the upgrade course. When I told him that I enrolled in the course to obtain feedback because my previous course Tutor didn’t provide enough feedback he quickly decided to refund my course. Overall, I would state the course material is intensive, stimulating , and highly interactive. The Tutor on the other hand doesn’t have a background in teaching English. I decided to check out Maselle Career College and checked for his name. It list his credentials which fail to mention anything in regards to teaching English. If you are looking for a quality certificate where basically you are self taught this is the one for you. If you are looking to receive feedback from a Tutor I would have to say look elsewhere. I had mixed feelings to this program because the language is very intense unlike other TEFL Course and this can cause some problems for the learner. I did on the other hand receive very high scores in the high 90′s due to my background in teaching English. I was hoping to expand my current knowledge but quickly decided to pull the plug on this program due to the lack of feedback from the Tutor.

I just completed the 50 hour linguaedge program, and like the others above, I was surprisingly impressed with the quality of the content and the course design.
Taught me a lot, and am now very confident in my ability to translate what I learnt into a class room situation.
I expect to do a lot more on-job training and professional development in the future, but as a starter this was ideal.

I recently finished the TESOL 100 hour certificate course and I was impressed. I didn’t think it would be very thorough or challenging since it is an online course of a relatively low price. I was wrong, this course was very in depth. I learned how the english language came in existance, different ways of teaching a foreign language, extensive grammar, teaching strategies and tactics, teacher resources, and tips for transitioning into my new career. There were 44 lessons and each lesson included a video of an experienced teacher giving his perspective, as well as lots of text and mini quizzes. I tried to finish 1 lesson a day which allowed to me to finish in 2.5 months of continuous learning. I now have the knowledge, all that is left for me to do is to get out there and do it. Thanks Linguaedge!

I have completed the 150 hrs. TESOL course with LinguaEdge. First off, this course is definitely not a walk in the park. That is, it requires serious effort and commitment, otherwise, don’t bother wasting your money only to give up in the middle of the grammar module. Although I don’t speak with a wealth of knowledge about other TESOL programs, this one is comprehensive and practical. It covers everything from articulation points of various letters to the etiquette of using a blackboard.

I recently completed the 50-hour online TESOL course that Linguaedge has to offer and have to say that I was thoroughly satisfied. Before choosing this certification company I was accepted by another that did the classic ‘bait and switch’ on me. At first, that particular 60-hour TESOL certification program was $175 with an extra $25 for a ‘certificate dispatch fee’ upon completion of the course BUT when I was about to pay they said it was $1,200! I was reassured ANY program under that amount was a “scam”! Disillusioned, I cancelled and immediately surfed the wed and chose the absolute cheapest one thinking that they’re ALL probably trying to swindle me. Not so with Linguaedge at a mere $149: as one person already pointed out this was no “walk in the park.” They make you work for it BUT I’m so glad that I did it! As a 15-year veteran teacher in Korea I’ve learned many practical things through this course that I should have known before ever stepping into an EFL/ESL classroom situation. My tutor was surprisingly prompt, concise, informative, and friendly. I would recommend this class to anyone with hopes of teaching English at home or abroad.

Content: Broad enough to give a good range of skills and techniques.
Practice Teaching: I gave it a good go, my first time wasn’t too good however there was a lot of feedback on what I was doing (or wasn’t)
Instructor: Very knowledgeable and well traveled. Really knew her stuff.
Job Placement: There are jobs on offer however I didn’t need this service.
Facilities/Resources: Very much up to scratch, lots of resources to refer to and take with me.
Overall: 4.5/5 Recommended

150 Hour Tesol course (Level 2).
I just finished the LinguaEdge 150 hour course. It took me about 5 months and was very intense. This course will require a lot from you and the level of difficulty is comparable to some of my more difficult college classes. I decided to take the 150 hour course because it is accredited by 3 agencies (including ACTDEC). I’ve received one of the hard-copies already along with the course certificate. In my opinion these 3 accrediting agencies are more legitimate than those offered by other Tesol course providers. ACTDEC is one which will post your name directly onto their web page.
This course covers quite a bit; from history to pronunciation and grammar and lexical forms and much more. My tutor was David and very prompt with questions and feedback. Although he didn’t respond to me prior to enrolling in the course (maybe he has a spam folder), he went beyond expectations once I did enroll. His feedback is very helpful and detailed. He sends a very long detailed report of your work and his responses upon completion, along with the recommendation letter showing your final grade.
The final results of your work are comprehensive and able to be viewed by employers. This class may be more difficult for non-native speakers but I feel it carries more weight than other providers based on how hefty the content was. David even made a personalized watermark on my certificate with my name upon request. If you have the time and dedication to complete the course then you cannot go wrong with this provider.
On a side note, the grammar portion was broken down very well and much easier to understand than any high school grammar book I’ve read.
Highly recommended.
