One Customer Review of Anaheim University
Review by Disappointed in Anaheim, March 13, 2012
Course textbook is often poorly written or superficial.
Supplementary material (from other training courses) is better than main text.
Course website and information have numerous typos and other errors.
Course videos are poor quality and amateur.
Dr. Nunan often seems unprepared for his lectures.
The majority of the videos are NOT Dr. Nunan.
Discussion forum does not help understand content.
Quizzes poorly written and contain errors.
No practice teaching, but this course is entirely online.
Expectations fully explained, but mismatched with course material.
Feedback is limited and not useful (percentage only).
Lesson plan guidance is limited to a few briefly-explained example activities.
Instructor’s comments are copy-and-paste.
Replies to the discussion forum questions do not fully address the same questions.
Interaction with instructor is limited and Dr. Nunan very limited.
Don’t think job placement assistance is offered.
Facilities are online and superficially well-designed but poorly implemented.
Resource library url given, but doesn’t work.
Standard educational website, but hackneyed setup.
Bottom Line: The course is phoned in and relies on Dr. Nunan’s reputation, not quality, to attract students.
My Recommendation: If you need an online only course and are entirely new to TESOL, this will provide a superficial introduction and give some vague ideas of classroom activities and concerns. If you have experience or want any depth, go elsewhere.
